Today we're going to look at some Japanese onomatopoeia, or "sound words," and Manzai comedian Chad Mullane is going to help us.
Japanese has many more variations of onomatopoeia than in English, and they are much more commonly used in speech and writing.
However, they also have to downside that many can seem very similar to non-native speakers, and a simple change from か to が can change the entire meaning of the word.
So, today we're going to look at the difference between ポキッ and ボキッ, and with comedic stylings of Chad Mullane, we promise these are two onomatopoeia that you'll never forget.
